MLE builds lift for Cape Canaveral
Will be installed in Boeing’s satellite cleanroom facility
Boeing purchased the lift for approximately US$850,000 (£536,400). It will be the largest cleanroom lift ever made for preparing satellites for launch.
The lift, which has been designed for a Class 1000 cleanroom, measures 60 x 60 x 42ft. It has a platform capacity of 750lb. The turret rotates 360° continuous, while the platform rotates 180°.
MLE says the lift has ultra smooth controls, four-wheel steering and runs of battery and AC power.
MLE specialises in designing and building lifts for specialist markets that are not produced by standard product manufacturers. It builds explosion-proof lifts, custom lifts, aerials for the aerospace industry, high-capacity lifts, insulated lifts and offers engineering consulting.
